Add an extra ball and make all those balls moons instead, and that character could easily be Mat Cauthon from the Wheel of Time series.

Nine moons. But they're symbols, not like the moons in the sky.

Eye of the World is the first book. If you take it up you'll see why I like the series so much. It's epic, haha.

I know it's kinda random, but your picture seriously reminded me of him. So, good job. You transcended genres.
