Personality:

Zack has little to no corporeal ambitions in life, not one for material possessions, title nor power, choosing instead to focus on the social aspect of things. He prides himself on his ability to be liked by almost anyone, saying he is friendly is an understatement. Often mistaken for being younger than his actual age, he uses his general delightful and upbeat aura and that cute face to get people to like him almost instantly. Trainable, eager to please, Zack is very diligent in researching and memorizing the likes and dislikes, personal history and daily routines of those in his life, and puts ample work into being on everyone's good side. He has an agreeable temper, somewhat feminine mannerisms and ways of communication, and does not mind if people think he is frivolous or girly or even a doormat, as long as they do not genuinely despise his company.

However, this does not mean he is a doormat, or veritably a kind and loving person. Being endearing is literally his game and hobby, in truth he has the mentality of one who is almost a sociopath. Underneath the general carefree attitude hides the cunning mind of a bored genius. He only cares for two people in the world, himself, and the one he considers to be his “master”.

Zack is a person who needs another to devote his time and attention to, because he has no ambitions of his own, and thus relies on this specific person to bring himself a sense of self fulfilment. For this particular person, he is tirelessly ready to please, always putting his can-do enthusiasm to work, even if he received no recognition or credit for his efforts. Completely amoral, he supports a childlike cruelty and ruthlessness in his dealings, holding only his master's well-being in mind, even if the master in question does not condone of his unfettered methods. Cross his master and the consequences will be grave.

Biography:

Zack was adopted as Zacharias Cooper into a bourgeois merchant family in Boston at the age of 8. The Coopers were peaceful, if not slightly dull people, and were overjoyed by the life he brought into their home with his natural exuberant energy and charm. The couple soon took notice of the fact that their son's intelligence level was above average, and applied him into many fields of study on top of his standard schooling. Under their nurturing, he became well rounded in knowledge and skill, dabbing into many areas of expertise, including some forms of self-defence.

In 1918, the third registration of the Selective Service Act was put into place, and as a result Zack was conscripted into the American military. Extremely repulsed by the idea of putting himself in the line of danger, he took some cash and his things and left the Coopers in the dark of night. He used the money to create some fake papers for himself and changed his name to Zack Hayes, taking up a job as a bank teller in New York City.

He enjoyed a quiet period of life until one fateful night, a Japanese woman named Annette Hayashi crossed his path. He took immediate liking and interest in her, and accepted her offer to help with her inside trading scam. However, when the scheme went south, Annette resorted to reaching out to the shadier crowd for protection. Placidly he joined Los Sabuesos as her tag along, promptly abandoning his previous boring life.
